This year WCSB will be marching in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Look for us between the Cleveland Central Catholic Marching Band and the Burning River Roller Girls and led by our very own Bill Kennedy, host of “Sweeney Astray”, Saturdays 8pm – 10pm. Keep your eyes peeled for some of your favorite DJs like Russ “Romance” Murphy , Timmy the Hippie and many, many more.
The Parade kicks off at 1:04pm, we’ll be the ones in green.
Former WCSB member Daniel Vargas Jr., whom many of us knew as “Junior” Vargas, has passed away. His obituary in Saturday’s Plain Dealer mentioned his 40 year career in radio on WZAK and WCSB and expressed the wonderful sentiment – “His music will play forever!”
His funeral will be held on Monday 2/1/10 at 10 am at La Sagrada Familia Catholic Church, 7719 Detroit Ave. in Cleveland.
WCSB’s music director Jake Griswold will be premiering his video footage from the WCSB Halloween Party Concert at the Bela Dubby in Lakewood this Saturday 12/9/10 beginning at 9pm. He will also be screening the 1982 exploitation thriller “Class of 1984″. The event is free and open to the public.
Come and check out WCSB’s CD Sale located on the Rhodes Tower Plaza, outside of Michael Schwartz Library.
We will be selling CDs and WCSB Logo Merchandise from 10am – 2pm this Wednesday and Thursday.
WCSB would like to thank everyone who attended the
~ Evening of Kirtan with KRISHNA DAS ~ fundraiser to benefit All Faiths Pantry.
The event was a great success.
Participants enjoyed ancient yogic chants, with a modern pioneer of world music, while helping to raise money to feed local seniors and mobility challenged people.
