[...] Thanks to the support of Lisa from radio station WCSB 89.3 FM both the Billy Gomberg / offthesky and the Shinobu Nemoto releases charted in the top 10 this week for WCSB’s Experimental/Electronic/Improv charts. //Out of curiosity I asked Lisa how exactly this works. She replied… ”the charts – we do these for CMJ (college music journal) along with many other college stations. i am not sure how they use this info, except that if enough releases chart for enough stations, somehow they are noticed more and written up in the journal and that kind of thing. at the very least, your label is now in their system and if others in the industry check the WCSB charts (and they do – i’ve been told that WCSB is a station that people keep an eye on and monitor what our djs are playing – cause WCSB is just that awesome haha) – but when others in the industry check our charts, your label is there for them to see and perhaps explore further.”//So good stuff. Thanks Lisa!!!//Be sure and check out Lisa’s show on WCSB ‘The Mysterious Black Box’ every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm Eastern time out of Cleveland, Ohio, US on 89.3FM or worldwide by visiting http://www.wcsb.org/listen/.
