Law about playing multiple songs by same artist? someone told me there was an FCC rule about playing multiple songs by the same artist in a show? Is this true? The FCC has NO bearing on webcasts. However, webcasting laws prohibit more than three songs by an artist or more than three songs from any one album (comps include) in less than a 3 hour period.

Sounds like a case of multi-dimensionality, in which case, there are no FCC rules governing that, or any rules for that matter. Well, I mean there are *rules*, but I doubt anyone on the FCC would be hip to those rules, or if they were, they'd have to hide the fact from their colleagues on this planet and later represent WCSB at the Multiverse Tribunal, as we're *sort of* their responsibility. Either way, we'd never find out, nor would the FCC, so no worries.

QUESTION: If one were to get permission from the artist or releaser of compilation, could one then play more than the limit?
