Mr. Carsick James:

Does *-track really mean 8 track?

If so, that is sweeeeeet.

Anything by Aerosmith. Anything. Not really that good in the first place, in retrospect. Now hires professional songwriters to write songs they can suck at for pre-pubescent girls younger than their granddaughters. Tie this in with my "Smite" list. Anything on that. Oh, and Ja Rule and Fat Joe, too.

ha...more than likely it means that commercial stations themselves should ALL be smote! I've heard that song on about 6 different stations, once even on 2 stations concurrently!
blargh
the only station i ever really listened to was 105.7 but nowadays their idea of "oldies" is bruce springsteen.

Seems like "Anything" was covered by a lot of '70's era bands...anyone know who wrote it?

No more Eagles, agreed, but leave the Styx, kansas, and REO alone!! I love cheese!

hey mainstream 90's rock bands were sweet. well, looking back on it they weren't but the music is good for reminiscing about being a prepubescent.

plus it's really fun to try and sing like Layne Staley.

I forgot to mention "Moondance" by Van Morrison and 99.2% of all Beatles songs (notably excluding say, "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me & My Monkey")

This thread is very challenging for me. I could easily produce a blanket statement saying that I hate all current top 40 songs but that would not be very entertaining would it now? However as far as musical taste goes generally If I don't like a song because I feel it SUCKS, I some how always seem find a wee bit amusing that it got played on the radio in the first place. However, once a year every Goddamn April I have to hear from every Rock station every Nirvana song that ever got Radio play in form of a marathon. Unfortunately the ratio between songs that they recorded and songs that were played on mainstream radio is no where close. Come on guys there are plenty of other music Celebrities that died that month and did not have to shoot them selves to get there.

The 90's were the worst decade for rock music yet. Exceptions: Tool, Pantera. Alice in Chains, too, but it's still better to try to sing like Bruce Dickinson or El Duce.

stephdk seems to be on the right track. ANY SWING/Crooning, etc. That means Sinatra, Martin, Torme, bennet, Prima. Boone, EXCEPT his horribly funny metal cd.

1. About 95% of the "soft rock" WDOK plays must be destroyed.

2. I actually like (or at least tolerate) some of the music mentioned here, including many of the songs on Krauty's list.

3. I pity anyone who hates The Beatles.

4. To Smoking Loon: Pat Boone's metal CD isn't "horribly funny," just horrible. ;-)
