So is Racist Caller really dead? - 11 months ago
On Synesthesia this week, both Dr. Sinister and Big Johnson claimed that Racist Caller is dead. They said that he committed suicide and that "his real name was literally John Doe", as the good Doctor put it. I just went to cleveland.com to look for Doe's obituary, but couldn't find it. If there's any proof that Racist Caller is dead on the internet, could someone please provide a link?by nomoneymark - The Station

I was also at the birthday party (sadly, I left before Dricore arrived), and I kept in touch with Gilly on the phone while he was living at the nursing home. Although he was very open about his condition, it seems that he was downplaying it as much as he could. He was very brave throughout the process. Rick wasn't perfect, but he was my friend, and I'll miss him a lot. P.S. Due to working overby nomoneymark - Anything Goes

Let me repeat what I wrote at the new 669 forum: Quotenomoneymark The Outer Limits. The 1963-65 original, not the (usually crappy) 1995-2002 revival. I can't think of another series that has done a better blend of style (the monsters, the arty cinematography, the great music, the whole atmosphere of the show) and substance (the thought-provoking writing).by nomoneymark - Anything Goes

"500 Feet Ahead" - 4 years ago
One of the things I like about living in the Cleveland area is those "500 Feet Ahead' signs you see in front of major intersections in suburban Cuyahoga County. I've rarely seen anything similar elsewhere, and when I do the signs don't look nearly as good. I like the "500 Feet Ahead" signs, and I wish more cities had them. Anyone agree--or disagree? P.S. No, I am not making this up. I'm sure some of you remember Lawson's, the once-omnipresent convenience store chain who ran the famous "Roll On Big O" commercials. While Lawson's disappeared from Ohio in 1985, the stores still exist in Japan, and they've been there since 1975. Thanks for your quick response, xpat. I agree with you on GEMA, Soundexchange and similar organizations. They seem to be little more than middlemen who manipulate the system for their own personal profit. Fortunately, they (and the corporate labels they represent) are becoming irrelevant in an era where major acts like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails are able to manage their own affairs. Everyone: I was planning to go to the CSB/RUW bowling tournament on Saturday, but the guy who going to give me a ride canceled at the last minute, so now I need a ride. I would definitely call in more often if I were awake at the time. But if I can make an effort to get up at 5 AM for Breakfast Burrito, I can do the same for WCSB World News Tonight--even though I'm always up till 2 AM the previous morning listening to WCSB's incredible Sunday night programming.by nomoneymark - Shows
