Ceremony of the 35th Summer, June 25th at SPACES – Come Celebrate 35 years of WCSB!

June 8th, 2011

This year WCSB celebrates its 35th anniversary. The station officially went on the air at 10am on May 10th, 1976. June marks the 35th summer!

This year also marks the 29th anniversary of Manchester, UK Factory Records’ club “The Hacienda”. A club before it’s time and completely unique in design and atmosphere. And as Factory began, in 1986, celebrating the “Festival of the 10th Summer” to mark the significance and influence of the Sex Pistols playing in Manchester in the summer of 1976, we shall celebrate our own birthday!

Listeners are invited to participate in a very special FREE engagement with WCSB. A night to rejoice in 35 years of broadcasting the alternative. And to cheer to another 35 years of WCSB!
Be together with your friends and revisit the HACIENDA at SPACES Art Gallery (2220 Superior Viaduct) on the night of JUNE 25TH.

Come dance to WCSB DJs  from “Night Music” (Wednesdays 11pm – 1am), “Drinking Electricity” (Fridays 9pm-11pm) & “Pleasure Leftists” (Thursdays 9am-11am) spinning as only the HACIENDA can offer.

Come be educated by an audio visual experience in all that is/was FACTORY and the HACIENDA.
Be witness to two sets by New York City cold wave ambassadors , XENO AND OAKLANDER.
Drink WCSB beer and/or espresso from The ROOT Cafe’s portable traditional Italian espresso bar.
Eat birthday cake and be one with WCSB!
