They did that song? I didn't know. "Good God, ya'll" If it IS a cover, then it was an anti-war protest. If it was an original, then I'll have to listen. Either way, I need to hit the vaults.

Oh, I get you now. I previously thought that you referred to "Why Can't We be Friends" and "War" as two separate songs and questions. Now I know, you meant it as one question--"Why Can't We Be Friends?", performed by the group WAR. Well, yes, they did perform that song. I think it was a double entendre--the idea of war and protest, parallel to a simple, friendly, hippie-style societal issue.
