PD = Plain Dirt
March 21, 2008 11:19AM
Today's PD wrote a front page article about Fingerhut ceasing to pursue the Northern Ohio University merge between CSU and UA. So maybe we can all now breath for a bit.

An article in the PD about a shaker hts. High School SDS group protesting the other day in regards to the war. Someone stated in the article that he/she was happy to see working class blue collar families standing up against the war. The fierce protesters stopped their uprise once the Megaphone ran out of batteries and it was almost time for dinner.
Shaker Hts? Blue collar?

Big controversy apparently over Vogue's 2008 April issue cover. The cover has homeboy superstar BB player (and by homeboy I mean local) LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen (have no clue who she is). Lebron is posed in a menacing stance with one hand dribbling a B-ball and the other holding Gisele by the waist while her gorgeous blond locks flow through the air. The controversy is in regards to the alleged racial message that the cover portrays. People have interpreted the picture as an allusion to the monster movie "King Kong", portraying Mr. James as a big giant monkey which as you know is a common discriminating racial remark against blacks. Of course there is the whole topic involving the helpless (but yet sexually intrigued) white female in Mr. James monstrous arms.

What I don't understand is that the whole time he is jumping around the court, dribbling the ball and hanging on the rim from a 5 foot leap, it takes a Vogue cover where he is still to make that connection.

How is the PD still alive with great stories like these? Geez. I rather read the corn from my dump.

The PD is NOT a real newspaper. Try: Detroit Free Press, Chicago Tribune, or Montreal Gazette.

Good point on the Vogue bs. In high school, it was always the blacks that tried to make every issue racial when the situation was not, as nothing usually was in a very integrated school. White man was the devil.

Hey! You are both white! AND... devilish! The pee dee is crap. Ironically when Lebron was questioned about the controversy, he stated he liked the cover and didn't know what the big deal was all about. I liken this to the NCLR-National Council of La Raza (the Mexican version of the NAACP) lobbying to get the WB cartoon "Speedy Gonzalez" off the air because it depicted a negative stereotype of Mexicans/Chicanos. I've never forgiven them for that. I'm sure Cesar Chavez was turning in his grave.

I'm guessing by "U. Sam", you meant Yosemite Sam.

And you know what? Truckers have Yosemite Sam on their mudflaps!

yeah that is what I meant. I couldn't remember his name but I knew it had a U-ish sound to it.

Truckers love him cause they are hell-raising rebels.

Bill Cosby bought the rights to Our Gang and The Little Rascals so he could prevent Buckwheat from being any further derogatory. Yet, this man sold his soul for pudding and his own blaxploitation cartoon, Fat Albert, is ok. Asshole.
