Pinball-locator Thread
February 29, 2008 10:44AM
As you may or may not know, I am is a huge pinball lover. I often find myself in some craptacular dive bar in a very questionable area just because they have a BlackKnight 2000 or Addam's Family pinball machines. In fact, dive bars have basically been the only ones who are keeping pinball alive and now they are selling out to the evils of Golden Tee. Anyway, the purpose of this post is to help folks find the pinball machines in the greater Cleveland area. If you find yourself somewhere ( a bar, bowling alley, etc.) that has a pinball machine please take notice of the machine title, the condition of the machine, and the place's location and post it in this thread. I will more than likely try to visit all of the places that have machines and get my silver ball freak on.
I will start:
McKenna's on Lorain rd in Cleveland has Roller Coaster Tycoon pinball a new machine in excellent repair.
Becky's on E 18th in Cleveland has a newly refurbished Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and it plays very nice.
ANYBODY KNOW OF ANY OTHERS????

The Shitfire has a South Park one that's quite popular with the regular rowdies. (W.117th & Franklin at Cleveland/Lakewood border for the "vigins")

Do they ever turn on that pinball machine in the bar at the Beachland Ballroom? I've played it a few times. It's quite old, and you really have to mash the buttons to work the flippers.

I totally love the Southpark game at the Shitfire. Sweet Ass, I'm delighted to know that there's another pinball hound in the house. There's a "new" bar on the west side called Quiet Bob's that has a table called Funhouse. The problem with it, though, is that it's poorly lit, so it makes playing a successful round difficult. We should meet for a duel sometime, Sassy! BTW.... did you know thatDave and Buster's has NO pinball!? I recently was very disappointed by my assumptions that a huge "arcade" would, duh, have pinball! What is happening to the world? Fuck Golden Tee!

I have, for years, been on the lookout for Guns N' Roses pinball. I first played this @ Hard Rock Cafe-SkyDome about 13 years ago. Although technologically dated now, it would still be awesome. Even still, the datedness isn't too much. Plus, it plays various GNR songs. I think the only time I have seen this since was @ Pinball Pete's in Ann Arbor about 4-6 years ago. This machine cracks me up.

Bad news pinball fans. The South Park pinball machine is no more at the Shitfire. However, there is now a Ms. Pacman/Galaga machine.

Not that it counts as a "regular" spot, but as a new transplant to the area I was happy to see many pins at Cedar Point...including the legendary "Hercules", with the jumbo-sized ball (like, billiards-sized)! I love all machines, new and old, and though I moved from Philly and really, really miss The Pinball Parlour (link below), I'm hoping to find a similar gem in these here parts...I know its somewhere! And if you are near Philly, go here:

Thanks for sharing that link, Whan an awesome place. There is a place in Phoenix I visited last month that was similar and I had a blast.

I wish we had such a place here in Cleveland.

Does anyone on this list have any pins? I am curious as to what folks have in their collection winking smiley

Have a great Spring!

I have a Sinbad (Gottlieb, late '70s) in my parent's basement back home. Needs some work that I never got around to doing...but someday, someday.

Also, folks should do well and check out the Internet Pinball Database (like the one for movies, but for pinball, duh):

Good resources so thank you for sharing. Now that you are missing Pinball so much, it's a great time to go and get your Sinbad and start the work to bring it back to life.

Anyone else reading this list. Come on Cleveland, what games do you have and where are all the pinball machine hiding around town ;0

I went to the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum in Las Vegas with my girlfriend last month. They had around 100 or so machines from the 50's to the present, plus some of the first video parlor games (Space Invader, Centipede, etc.) Wasn't interested in those at all. I was shocked how hard the pinball machines from the 50s and 60s were! I was lucky to score 500 points with 5 balls! It was totally fun though. They had a very unPC shooting gallery game with the targets looking alot like Viet Cong. I know a lot of people go to Las Vegas for gambling (blah), so maybe some of you can check this place out:

It's not that bad. What do you expect?
I'd rank it below the Raiders of the Lost Ark, but above the other two.

The one at the beachland is gone. Last couple a times I was there there more space in that corner. yeah man, it's gone.

Have y'all been to Cedar Point? The old arcade there has a lot of machines. There's the Hercules, it's giant, like, 3X as big as a regular game.
It's like 35.00 dollars to get in.

I was told the IJ4 pinball machine is located at the Strongsville movie theater.
Dark Knight is a great theme for a pinball machine, I hope to play it sometime.
It looks pretty cool. Check out the design [arcadeheroes.com]
I also have an outake from Dark Knight film on my website, check it out my featured video @ [www.669radio.com]
