Let’s embark on a musical journey.  Wherever you join in, expect the likes of Olivier Messiaen, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Arnold Schoenberg.  This is the caliber of musicianship listeners will be familiar with by then end of this show.

With this high standard it can be hard to categorize what exactly constitutes the inclusion of one form of music over another.  WCSB is an alternative radio station and I posit that mainstream media can be listened to alternatively.  The aim is to listen to music in a historical context while simultaneously separating artist from the art.  Hopefully this will cultivate a pure listening environment.  Music doesn’t come from a vacuum.  More importantly, music cannot exist in a vacuum.  Such is the nature of sound.

Since music is fundamentally ambient literally requiring an atmosphere to exist, my focus is on ambient music and with history in mind, classical music takes precedence.  Eduard Varèse pioneered the experimental electronic world and I endeavor to explore it.  From KISS to Alva Noto, music is an expression of the free world.
